A 16-year-old was taken to the hospital with serious injuries Friday morning after a crash in Sheboygan County.

At 7:46 a.m., crews were called to a single vehicle accident on CTH V, east of Shircel Road, in the Town of Wilson.

When deputies arrived, they found the driver trapped inside the vehicle. They were able to extricate the boy and start medical assistance.

The teen was transported to Froedert Medical Center with serious injuries.

An initial investigation shows that speed and the weather conditions were a factor in the crash.

The driver was said to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and the airbag was deployed.

The crash remains under investigation.
