MADISON (WFRV) After a flurry of activity in Madison today, there will be a presidential recount in Wisconsin. And it’s expected to start on Thursday in all 72 counties.
The campaign of Green Party Candidate Jill Stein delivered $3.5 million to the state elections commission to pay for the recount just before the 4:30 deadline.
And today the estimated cost of the recount went up to $3.9-million, but the Stein Campaign’s payment guaranteed the recount would happen. Donald Trump led Hillary Clinton by about 22-thousand votes on election night.
But, how\ the ballots will be counted was the focus of a special hearing in a Madison courtroom that ended just over an hour ago. The Stein Campaign wanted them hand counted, the state wanted to allow a machine recount. The judge agreed with the state.
