It’s exciting news for sports fans – the area is getting a minor league basketball team this season: the Wisconsin Herd.
The Herd will be based out of Oshkosh, and will be the G league affiliate for the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks. They’ll begin their season on Monday, November 6th, but fans won’t have to wait that long to meet some of the players, as the team is hosting a meet-and-greet event to introduce the players on Friday, November 3rd. The event will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Fox River Brewing Company in Oshkosh. Players and coaches will hang out, sign autographs, and take photos with fans. The event is free and open to the public.
The Herd’s home opener will be on Friday, November 17th, at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee. They’ll eventually play in the Menominee Nation Arena, which is currently under construction on South Main Street in Oshkosh. Because of delays in that project, the Herd’s first three home games will be played in Milwaukee. The Herd are scheduled to make their Oshkosh debut on December 1st, against the Iowa Wolves. Their 2017-2018 schedule can be found here.
