Woman killed in early-morning shooting

The victim involved in the early Thursday morning shooting is identified as 48-year-old Annie Ford. The 58-year-old suspect is identified as Johnny Scott. Police were called to the home Wednesday night because the two were arguing. Scott will appear in an Outagamie County Courtroom Friday as he faces a first-degree intentional homicide charge.

A woman is dead following a shooting on Appleton’s southeast side early Thursday morning.

Police say they were called to a duplex on the 3300 block of E. Canary Street at approximately 2:04 a.m.

A 48-year-old woman was found inside the residence with wounds that were found to be consistent with gunshot wounds.She was taken to the hospital, where she was later declared dead.

An autopsy will be completed shortly in Milwaukee.

A 58-year-old man who lived at the residence was taken into custody outside of the home by officers without incident.

Police believe this was an isolated incident and say that there is no threat to the general public.
