Woman severely injured in Union traffic crash

UNION, Wis. – A 62-year-old woman from Manawa was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident in the town of Union on Wednesday.

At 12:24 p.m., the woman was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of County Rd. K and State Rd. 161 and failed to yield to an oncoming pickup heading east.

The 22-year-old man, who is also from Manawa, was driving the pickup and was unable to stop, colliding with the woman’s car. The woman was taken out of her vehicle by the Manawa Fire Department and was airlifted by ThedaStar Air Ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The man driving the pickup was treated on the scene by Manawa Ambulance. The incident remains under investigation and names are not being released at this time.
