GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – It’s a tradition at Wisconsin Public Service and the employees did their part for Earth Day.
They prepared 500 tree seedlings to be distributed to elementary school students in Green Bay, Wausaukee and Oshkosh as part of their commitment to improving the environment.
The tree seedlings being distributed by WPS are chosen because they typically don’t impact overhead electrical lines and facilities.
Over the past five years, WPS has provided 3,400 seedlings to students in Northeast Wisconsin.
After an afternoon of prep work, 500 tree seedlings are ready for planting by local students! Thank you @WFRVLocal5 for highlighting the efforts of our employees. We’re glad to help enhance urban forests and improve student learning by donating the seedlings once again. #EarthDay pic.twitter.com/Dgd3I3qL0Z— WPS (@WIPublicService) April 22, 2019
