Update: Power Restored to Thousands in Northeast Wisconsin

Chilton and Oconto Falls were the most affected early Thursday

As of 7:30 a.m., all power has been restored to the affected areas.

THURSDAY 1/31/19 6:50 a.m.

WPS is reporting that nearly 3,000 people are without power this morning.

Chilton is the most affected area with over 1,100 customers impacted. The number of people in Oconto Falls has shot up to 662 customers, and 588 people don't have power in Suring.

The cause is still unknown, and now WPS says power should be restored by 9:30 a.m. in the Lena area on Thursday.

According to WPS, thousands of people across the area are without power Thursday morning. 

The area most affected is Chilton, where over 1,100 people currently don't have power. Nearly 600 people are without power in Suring and 141 people do not have power in Oconto County. In total, 2.054 customers have been affected.

The reason is unknown at this time, but we have been dealing with brutally cold temperatures and wind chills the past two days.

Power is expected to be restored by 7:45-8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
