A look back at Kids’ Day

Mayor Jim Schmitt

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — When mayor Jim Schmitt first took office back in 2003, one of the first decisions he made was to take a day to honor the kids in and around Green Bay.

The first annual Kids’ day was held on June 25, 2003. It offered plenty of activities to kids, all free of charge.

Since that first year, the event continues to grow. Tens of thousands of kids have taken part over the years.
