Overnight Fire in Green Bay Displaces Dozens

GREEN BAY (WFRV) Dozens of people have no where to live after an overnight fire ripped through a 16-unit Green Bay apartment building.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Dozens of residents are being aided by the Red Cross after an overnight fire Tuesday in Green Bay, according to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department. 

Units were called to a multi-unit apartment building on Danz Avenue in Green Bay for a structure fire. Smoke was first seen around midnight and crew say the fire started in the basement. They say it then traveled through the walls of the structure and spread through the attic. Heavy fire and smoke damage throughout the building. Eight of the sixteen apartments are a total loss

All people living in the building were told to evacuate. Estimated damage is not yet known. No one was hurt in the incident. The fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
