APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The future of a proposed exhibition center in Appleton was up for debate again tonight at City Hall.

As of 10:45 p.m. a vote had still not happened. However, committee members tell Local 5, they expect the expo center process to continue.

It would be a milestone for the project because there hasn’t been a specific yes vote to move forward with it since November of 2013.

At the meeting, the public had the chance not only to comment, but to have specific questions answered by stakeholders.

Supporters say the project should continue citing key economic benefits to the community.

But, opponents argue the city is spending too much money on a project that isn’t moving forward.

Tune into Local 5 This Morning, starting at 5:00 a.m. for full coverage of the meeting.
