Search Warrant Executed in Victoria Prokopovitz Case

BROWN COUNTY, Wis (WFRV) Local 5 has new information surrounding the search for a missing Pittsfield woman. Details coming from a search warrant document revealing what Brown County investigators fear happened to Victoria Prokopovitz.

In April Victoria’s family marked the two-year anniversary of her disappearance. Last week Brown County law enforcement went searching at her home for new evidence.

According to this search warrant document last week law enforcement came to this address on Kunesh road in the town of Pittsfield in search of evidence, believing that Victoria Prokopovitz may be a victim of foul play. The home rented by Victoria’s husband, James – the last place Victoria was seen alive.

Victoria’s daughter Marsha Loritz says the news gives her hope after two long years of waiting.

“It’s a weird feeling, because you are happy that there is movement but in another way it is scary,” said Loritz.

Victoria was last seen by James Prokopovitz before he went to bed April 25, 2013 at their home.  Waking up early the next day he found her missing – leaving behind her purse and cell phone. This document says her husband told deputies he feared his wife had committed suicide.

Last week investigators came back. Conducting a search and leaving with multiple computers and hard-drives, financial papers, a cell phone and swabs that tested positive for blood collected in various places in the couple’s home.

Brown County law enforcement is not talking about the case. Victoria’s daughter is thankful the investigation is moving forward.

“I’m in constant contact with investigators and they keep reassuring me that they are going to find us answers – and they are not going to stop until they find the answers,” said Loritz.

Governor Scott Walker declared April ‘Missing Person Awareness Month”. The proclamation came after Loritz shared with him the story of her missing mother.
