Sturgeon Bay man arrested after drunken disturbance in a construction area

STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Sturgeon Bay Police arrested a man, after he created a disturbance in the construction area on Maple Street. 

Around 8:00 a.m., Wednesday morning officers were called to the area and found a 58 year old man being held down by construction workers. 

The crew says the man came into the construction zone and began to operate a nearby backhoe. 

The Sturgeon Bay man, who was intoxicated, was coaxed out of the machinery by nearby workers. 

Once out the man began to run towards an open trench. 

The construction workers stopped the man from going into the trench until officers arrived. He was taken to jail and is facing several charges
