LAKE WINNEBAGO, Wis. (WFRV) – The DNR says this year’s sturgeon spearing season is expected to continue through Friday.

DNR sturgeon biologist Ryan Koenigs says 52 adult females were harvested on Lake Winnebago Thursday, 11 from the 90% season closure trigger.

Koenigs says as things stand now, a harvest of 94 or more adult females on Friday would close down the fishery, whereas a harvest of 11 to 93 adult females would add one more day (Saturday) to the fishery on Lake Winnebago.
