GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – For the first time in Titletown Brewing Company’s history, it is now offering some of it’s beers in stores.
And as Local 5’s Cole Higgins found out, even though they just began stocking shelves this week, some retailers are already selling out of the brews.
“We are so excited to have Titletown …another craft beer…a home brew…from Wisconsin…in our department and in our stores,” says Assistant Manager of Wine & Spirits at Festival Foods, Trisha Raasch.
Festival Foods is now just one of many Green Bay-area stores carrying two of Titletown Brewing Company’s ales.
“It’s another way to get to customers that can’t always drive downtown and pick up a growler of beer, now you can go to your local favorite liquor store or grocery store and get a six-pack of Titletown bottles, ” President of Titletown Brewing Co., Brent Weycker, explains.
Retailers offer six-packs of 12-ounce bottles of Johnny Blood Red and Green 19 India Pale Ale.
But, while shelves only started to get stocked on Monday, some stores are already selling out.
“It is exciting,” says Weycker.
With demand so high, Titletown Brewing hopes to be re-stocking shelves on Friday.
However, scheduling such a thing is touch and go – the company has only been bottling beer for one week.
“We’re just getting all the fill-lines in properly and stuff and the labeler, you know some of the labels are going on crooked and everything so we’re knocking out those kinks cus we want a product that not only tastes good but also looks good on the shelves,” Weycker explains.
Weycker says that if all goes as planned, Titletown Brewing’s product will soon be on the shelves of a store in every county in Wisconsin.
But, he doesn’t anticipate taking the bottled craft-beer much further than that.
“One of the great things about craft beer is that, I personally think, is that the greatest thing about it is when you go visit some area, that’s like the only place you can get that beer and I think there’s a certain uniqueness to that,” says Weycker.
Another unique brew from Titletown, the award winning Boathouse Pilsner, is expected to join the two beers already in stores, sometime this summer.
