Warren Gerds/Critic at Large: Second Year of ‘A Christmas Carol, The Musical’ Scheduled in De Pere

Birder Players will present nine performances of “A Christmas Carol, The Musical” starting Thursday, Nov. 29, in the troupe’s Broadway Theatre.

Performances are at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 and 30; 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 1: 7 p.m. Dec. 13-14; and 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 15. Info: birderstudio.org.

Birder Players consists of adult members from the greater Green Bay area.This is the second year for the production.

Adapted from the Charles Dickens story by Alan Menken, Lynn Ahrens and Mike Ockrent, the musical tells the well-known story of the prosperous curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Chad Lemerande.

Also featured are Ana Lissa Bakken, Bill Frailing, Ann Preiss Grey, Zeb Metzler, Evan Lloyd, Cindy Howard, Will Knappen, Steve Carlson, Sue Toonen, Rich Noffsinger, Michael Jacobs and Carrie Platten.

The principals are supported by a 30-voice mixed ensemble.

Birder Players is led by Alicia Birder as producer, director and choreographer, Dudley Birder as associate producer, Chad Lemerande as music director and Anna Allen and Ann Preiss Grey as assistant choreographers.

The production staff includes Lauren O’Callaghan as stage manager, Mary Slavek on keyboards, Warren Elliott as set designer, Susan Elliott as scenic designer, Chris Gabryszek as sound designer, Andrew Schmitz as lighting designer and Lois Gregare as hair and make-up designer.
