The Green Bay Packers have signed quarterback Jerod Evans to their practice squad. Evans was an undrafted rookie out of Virginia Tech, who made his way onto the Philadelphia Eagles roster before being placed on injured reserve on May 16 and was later released.

Evans threw for 3,546 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Hokies last year and also racked up 846 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. Evans was also named the 2016 ACC Newcomer of the Year by the Associated Press. He will wear No. 9 for Green Bay.
