This week the WIAA Boys Soccer playoffs get underway around the state. In 2017 ago Northeast Wisconsin had three teams make it to the state tournament in Milwaukee. It’s a new year and the region has plenty of teams eyeing a trip to Uihlein Soccer Park in early November.
The Neenah Rockets and Green Bay Preble Hornets were both ranked in the top ten of last week’s coaches poll, and are one seeds in the division one brackets.
Green Bay Southwest finished in a three way tie for second in the FRCC, behind conference champ Preble, and receives a one seed in division two.
The Seymour Thunder have one of the best players in the state, Rhett Driessen, and have been moving up in the rankings over the past few weeks. They received a one seed in division three with Notre Dame lurking on the other side of the bracket in sectional number two.
Kohler is on a 16 game winning streak heading into the postseason. The Blue Bombers appear to be among the favorites to make it to Milwaukee in division four, and are a one seed in division four. If Kohler can make it to the sectional championship, they would have a chance at punching their ticket to state on their own field on October 27th.
Below are the full brackets for all four divisions:
