Christian Yelich has been named the 2018 NL MVP in his debut season with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The outstanding outfield slugger received 29 of 32 first-place votes to top fellow finalists Javier Baez of the Chicago Cubs and Nolan Arenado of the Colorado Rockies.

In his first season with the Brewers, Yelich became just the fourth player in franchise history to win MVP honors, joining Rollie Fingers, Robin Yount and Ryan Braun.

Yelich heated up after the All-Star break, hitting .367 with 25 home runs and 67 RBI in 65 games, and was at his best as the Brewers clinched the NL Central title.
