GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) — The Green Bay women’s basketball team protected its home court for the first time during 2019 on Thursday evening, as the Phoenix welcomed Cleveland State (6-10, 3-2) to the Kress Center for its first home league matchup of the season. The contest proved to be a tight one for its majority, with GB (8-6, 3-1) pulling away in the final minutes to secure a 62-53 victory.
It was a balanced effort from the Phoenix offense, with eight different members of the team adding to Green Bay’s total and three reaching double figures. Laken James and Lyndsey Robson paced the Phoenix with 11 points apiece and freshman Hailey Oskey chipped in 10 along with four rebounds and one steal.
Madison Wolf scored five points and secured 11 rebounds, just one shy of her career high set against Wisconsin earlier in the season, and tallied a pair of blocks in 27 minutes.
