As the trade deadline looms the Milwaukee Brewers took a hit to their pitching staff on Monday with Brent Suter suffering a torn UCL in his throwing elbow.
Suter left Sunday’s game against the Dodgers with what the Brewers originally called a left forearm soreness. Just over 24 hours later the reports surfaced that it wsa a torn UCL, and Tommy John surgery was likely.
The Brewers have since confirmed the diagnosis of a torn UCL, but have not verified that Suter will need to have the surgery that would sideline him for an entire year.
So far in 2018, Suter’s first full year with the big league club, Suter has won eight of his 18 starts, and posted an ERA of 4.49. The 101 innings pitched prior to the injury is the most in Suter’s big league career.
