The Packers held their first evening practice of training camp on Thursday, but were forced to go indoors at the Don Hutson Center due to inclement weather

Injury Report: CB Kevin King (shoulder) returned to practice.  OLB Vince Biegel (foot), DL Montravius Adams (foot), and Demetri Goodson (knee) continue to be out.

News & Notes: The Packers did everything inside that they were planning to do outside according to Head Coach Mike McCarthy.  That included live punting, and Justin Vogel found the ceiling numerous times during special teams drills.

NFL referee Carl Cheffers and some of his crew are working with the Packers over the next few days.

Rookie RB Jamaal Williams, the Packers 4th round pick, continues to impress during training camp and even saw some time with starters during a team period Thursday.

Mason Crosby was 7/7 on field goals Thursday and is 22/23 during camp.

Two plays of the day included a deep pass from Joe Callahan to 6’6″ Rookie WR Michael Clark who used his vertical ability to catch a bomb over Ladarius Gunter, and Jeff Janis had a one-handed catch from Aaron Rodgers for a short touchdown.

They said it:  Mike McCarthy on CB’s Coach Joe Whitt asking Aaron Rodgers to challenge Kevin King in practice: “You want them to be challenged by Aaron. I think that’s normal process when you get into training camp. The 1’s vs. the 1’s as much as you can because the reps are few and far between, and you need to max that out. So it will help every time Kevin is in there competing against Aaron.”

Aaron Rodgers on wanting to retire as a Packer: The Derek Jeter’s, Kobe Bryant’s, the Tim Duncan’s doing it their entire career at one place, I just think it’s pretty special.  Again, I’m a realist as well.  I have to play well, the team has to want to bring me back.  I’d like to finish things here where we started.”

Jayrone Elliott on current crop of outside linebackers minus the offseason departures: “No Datone, No Julius, no problem.  We have a bunch of guys ready to compete and it should be fun.  Looking forward to the task at hand with the whole group.”
