In one of the hottest training camp practices so far, the Packers’ 12th practice lasted just over 2 hours and 30 minutes. It’s Green Bay’s last practice before their second preseason game against Pittsburgh this Thursday.
Injury Report: Aaron Jones (hamstring) and Kevin King (shoulder) did not finish practice, but they did return to watch the final period of practice.
The rest of the injury report did not change WR Trevor Davis (hamstring), RB Devante Mays (hamstring) and S Jermaine Whitehead (back) were all held out of practice.
News & Notes: Aaron Rodgers took reps with the first-team offense for the second straight day, which is a further indication he could be seeing some game reps on Thursday night.
Nick Perry continued to do some work off to the side, a sign he’s getting closer to coming off the PUP list following his offseason ankle surgery.
Rookie offensive lineman, Cole Madison, is not expected to return anytime soon, but general manager Brian Gutekunst said he’s not ruling out Madison from returning this year. The fifth-round pick is still dealing with personal issues.
Jimmy Graham’s chemistry with Aaron Rodgers continues to grow. The tight end caught a one-handed, back-shoulder grab for a touchdown over safety Marwin Evans.
They Said It: Aaron Rodgers on wanting to play this Thursday: “I think I’ll probably play this week. I’d like to in front of our fans and being that we’ve got the first two at home, it’d be nice to get out there back on Lambeau. Obviously when I came back from my injury, I was on the road so I haven’t played at home for a long time.”
