From Storm Team 5…
***WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT***
Tricky travel expected today. Freezing drizzle kicking things off will bring a risk for glare ice on the early morning commute. Ice, sleet and snow will pick up through the mid morning and into the second half of the day. High temperatures will be around 30 degrees.
Significant ice and snow accumulation will happen from the late morning into the evening. Travel could become extremely hazardous into the afternoon.
This evening, mostly snow showers and some sleet will take over and keep the accumulations coming.
Later tonight, the snow tapers off before midnight. Temperatures will drop way off before Friday with lows tonight in the single digits.
By Friday, frigid air will be with us with highs in the single digits. It wil be a windy day with “feels-like” temps dropping down to as low as -15 to -25 degrees.
